My Aps Opportunities

Australian Government Application Writers

Public Service Resumes Australian Government application writers are the experts when competing Federal Government applications, our writers have a direct working knowledge and understanding of the APS and the always changing application requirements. The majority of Australian Public Service (APS) or Federal Government jobs are advertised within the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). However, opportunities also exist for candidates within all six states, the Northern Territory and overseas. The APS Departments and Agencies are constantly seeking the brightest and most talented candidates to join their team of like-minded professionals. Once you have secured a casual, part-time or full-time position within the APS, the sky is the limit to the opportunities you will be presented with. These include the option of changing Departments or Agencies, learning and developing, promotions, leadership programs, outstanding personal, holiday and other leave, generous super contributions and the chance for you to harness and realise your potential.

Don’t hesitate to let our Australian Government application writers help you achieve your career goals.

Types of roles available within the APS include the following:

  • Administrative Service Officer includes a range of administrative, research and policy tasks depending on the government department, agency or organisation.
  • Foreign Affairs and Trade Officer includes policy and operational aspects of Australia’s foreign policy and trade interests which includes opportunities within Australia and overseas.

A large percentage of all APS jobs (over 150,000) are advertised within such Departments and Agencies as the Department of Human Services, the Department of Defence, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection & the Australian Tax Office (ATO). Due to machinery-of-government changes, the ranking of the three largest agencies has changed recently. Centrelink and Medicare Australia were abolished as separate agencies and staff merged into Department of Human Services, expanding its size to account for over 20% of the total APS job market. The Department of Human Services has 35,000 employees, the ATO has 25,000 employees and the Department of Defence with over 20,000 employees account for over half (50.4%) of the total APS job market.
